Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami was sworn in as the Deputy Governor on Thursday at the International Events Centre (The Dome) in Akure. The Chief Judge of the State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, conducted the inauguration ceremony, marking a pivotal moment in the state’s political landscape.
During the event, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa commended Chief Adelami’s exemplary record of service and leadership. The Governor expressed confidence in Adelami’s ability to contribute meaningfully to the progress of Ondo State. Recognizing Adelami’s credentials as a seasoned technocrat, administrator, and philanthropist, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged him to uphold integrity, accountability, and humility in his new role.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also addressed the recent dissolution of the State Executive Council, stating that the decision aimed to rejuvenate and reinvigorate the administration for maximum delivery on its mandate.
He thanked the State House of Assembly for promptly confirming Adelami’s appointment, emphasizing the importance of mutual trust and cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government.
In his inaugural address, Chief Adelami called on the people of Ondo State to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration. He highlighted the achievements within just a month of the new administration, including the return of contractors to project sites.
The inauguration marked a new chapter in the governance of Ondo State, with Chief Adelami assuming the role of Deputy Governor and contributing to the state’s continued development.
