BREAKING NEWS: WOMEN BLOCK ONDO GOVERNOR’S OFFICE TO PROTEST KIDNAPPING OF SURVEYORS, IT STUDENT ABDUCTED ON SITE

Some selected group of women have stormed the streets of Akure, blocking the entrance to the Governor’s Office at Alagbaka Akure, to protest abduction of nine Surveyors and one Industrial training (IT) student at Owode/ Ilu-Abo in Akure North local government area.

 

 

The nine Surveyors who hail from Akure were at Owode Ilu-Abo for jobs when they were abducted.

 

 

A sister to one of the kidnapped victims, Comfort Afolabi, confirmed that the nine Surveyors were abducted last week.

 

 

Afolabi said the kidnappers had since demanded N100m before they would begin negotiation for their release.

 

 

Kidnappings have been on the rise in Ondo State especially in Akure north council area.

 

 

Addressing the protesters, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Union matters and special Duties, Com. Bola Taiwo and the SSA on security matters, Gbenga Atiba said the government and security agencies were on top of the situation.
