He was solely guided by the ethics of his profession, compassion and humane disposition. His professional sound qualities have not come accidentally but genetically as his father was a man of immensely strong inestimable values. His Royal Majesty is a United States Certified Professional in Healthcare Qualities and an International Consultant to Liverpool Associate in Tropical Health (LATH). His Royal Majesty is a member of several professional associations: A member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA); Association of General and Private Medical, Practitioners of Nigeria, Healthcare Providers Association; Society for Quality Healthcare in Nigeria; World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA); American Association of Family Physicians; American Institute of Ultra Sound in Medicine, etc.
Honours and Awards
This Monarch of our time is a recipient of several awards and recognitions probably because of his brilliance, exceptionally good character, enviable conduct and unassuming personal disposition as well as aura of dignity. He occupied leadership position right from his elementary school days where he was made the School Health Prefect through Secondary School where he was a House Prefect. At the then University of Ife, he was a member of the students Representative Body and he also won the Federal Government Student National Award with scholarship. In recognition of his immense contributions to the advancement of the Medical Profession, the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria honoured him with a Fellowship Award.
The Healthcare Providers Association of Nigeria made him their National Financial Secretary and also honoured him with the Award of Excellence. In the year 2000, Oba Kiladejo, then a Prince, won the International Entrepreneurship Excellence Award as well as the Lagos State University Men of Achievements award. He is a recipient of the Development in Nigeria Merit Award in the Sphere of Human Medicine and Gold Award in recognition of his contributions to the Socio-Economic Development of Nigeria by Media Africa Communications Ltd. Oba Kiladejo is also a Patron of Alaba International Modern Market and as part of recognitions of his numerous contributions to the development of the Lagos Society, a Street was named after him in Lagos.
Business and Social Life
Before ascending the throne of his forefather, Oba Kiladejo had built a business empire for himself. He is the Chairman of Kiladejo Hospitals Group, Merit Diagnostic Centre, Covac Communications and Kiladejo Crown Foundations. All works and No play makes Jack a dull boy, this proverb does not apply to Oba Kiladejo as he combines hard work and arrays of achievements with periodic relaxation among peers, social and business associates and friends of diverse callings in numerous social clubs. He is a member of Club 75, a foremost Club in Ondo, The Apapa Club, The Rotary Club etc. His Royal Majesty is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International and now Grand Patron of Club 75, Newmay Club, Ondo Youth Association, O-Cream Club, Ondo Apex Club of Ibadan, Ondo Unity Forum in Americas, Ondo Union in United Kingdom etc.
In 2006, he was selected the 44th Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom to mount the throne vacated by his predecessor, Oba Festus Ibidapo Adesanoye, Osungbedelola II, who joined his ancestors earlier in the year. The Ondo State Government was impressed by the transparent and fair manner with which the Kingmakers had carried out the selection process and subsequently approved the selection. His Royal Majesty was installed and presented with staff of office in December, 2006. Thus Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Ademefun Adenrele Kiladejo has made a history by becoming the first Medical Doctor to occupy the stool of the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom in its over 500 years’ history on record. And within the two years occupation of the stool, Oba Kiladejo had united virtually all the segments of the Kingdom and built around himself a consens us of enthusiastic approval by the Osemawe-in-Council, beaded crowned Obas, Olojas, Baales, Chiefs and the people of the Kingdom. He has awakened the culture and tradition of the Kingdom. He has set in motion every machinery to improve on the lots of the people and protect his subjects from ravaging crimes as well as giving them honour and a place of pride to sojourn.
He is actively working to bring business investors to the Kingdom and has actually provided land free for a couple of such investors within the short period on the throne. The strength of Oba Kiladejo is in the Lord. Perhaps the late mother as a devout Christian had greatly influenced the Kabiyesi’s closeness to God. He is a strong member of the Young Men Christian Association and a Royal Merit Awardee of St. Patrick’s Anglican Church, Owo. In spite of his very tight schedule, he makes sure he participates in church and Christian activities.
The Biography of His Royal Majesty, however short, cannot be complete without mentioning the wife, Olori Comfort Olayinka who has provided the King decades of blissful matrimony, companionship, partnership and enormous support and cooperation. And as a testimony to God’s approval of their marriage, the union is blessed with diligent, obedient and progressive children. This short biography is just a sketch of the highly eventual life of His Royal Majesty. It would take a voluminous text to adequately give an account of the Monarch’s journey on earth so far.
