APC threatened to stay out of the April 23 Local Government Elections

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State, on Monday 18th January threatened to stay out of the April 23 Local Government election.

In a statement by the State Chairman of APC, Mr Isaac Kekemeke after the party’s consultative meeting held in Akure, the chairman said the party lacks faith in the leadership of the state electoral body, and described it as “a sham meant to trap our party.”

A week ago, the electoral body gave political parties three months notice to conduct local government elections in the 18 council areas of the state.

The Chairman said ODIEC has the intention to select chairmen and councilors rather than conducting free and fair election.
