APC Chairman Adamu Declares Governor Akeredolu Incapacitated

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has said that Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is incapacitated and currently hospitalized overseas.

Adamu made the disclosure at a meeting between the national leadership of the party and APC state chairmen. He said that the party regrets the governor’s incapacity and wishes him a speedy recovery.

Akeredolu had earlier written the state house of Assembly to extend his leave period which expired on the 6th of July. He had been in and out of hospitals for some time, and he had said that he would resume duty this week. However, his medical condition has prevented him from doing so.

While the exact ailment that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is facing remains unclear, there are speculations suggesting that he may be battling leukemia. Nonetheless, his absence from office has brought about a shift in the calculations for the upcoming 2024 governorship election.
