ANOTHER OSUN SENATOR QUITS PDP

Olubiyi Fadeyi, the senator representing Osun Central in the National Assembly has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party.

 

The lawmaker made this known via a letter addressed to the PDP Ward 3 chairman, Oke Ejigbo, Ila Orangun, Osun State and dated 12th July, 2025.

 

The letter read, “I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.

 

“Irreconcilable differences and irreparable division that have emerged and court cases and counter court cases in the last 3 years, which have created faction in the party at the national level.

 

“This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends.”

 

Earlier, the lawmaker representing Osun East in the Senate, Francis Fadahunsi, resigned his membership of the PDP.

 

Senator Fadahunsi, a two-term Senator, cited irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles ravaging PDP as the reasons for his move.

 

A letter signed by the lawmaker, addressed to the Ward 4 PDP Chairman and dated 12th June, 2025, read partly, “I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedevilled the party at the national level after the 2023 general elections.

 

“This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends.

 

“It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith.”
