An Overview of Adeyemi College of Education

Adeyemi college of Education is a tertiary institution in Ondo town of Ondo State. The school was founded in 1964 where it was named Arbicoland following the white that made the innovation. Adeyemi college ofEducation is a teacher training college, it runs both NCE and DEGREE program.Her Degree program is affiliated to Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife while it’s NCE is self hosted.

There are basically 5 schools in the college namely; Science, Arts and Socials, Vocational and Technical, Education and Languages. There are 26 departments in the school all together. Based on its affiliation with OAU, Adeyemi offers 4 years degree program in many course which includes Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Intergrated Science/Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Guidance and Counselling, yoruba, French, History, Geography, Social Studies, Religious Studies and Geography. In addition to the courses above, Adeyemi also offer some courses which are only limited to NCE program. Such other courses are Early Childhood Care Education, Adult and Non-formal Education, Primary Education Studies, Computer, Business Education, Fine Arts, Music, Igbo and Hausa.

The soon-to-be University consists of over 14,000 Nigerian Students who are being presided upon by Ogunrotifa Richard, the SUG president. Prof. Olukoya is the Provost of the 52 years old college while Mr. Olaluwoye is the Dean of Students’ Affairs.

The infrastructural status of the college can be rated 70% and currently the best teacher’s training college in the country. Adeyemi College of Education is shortened to be ACE and the Students of the college are called Arbicans.
