Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has lauded the Muslim community for fostering religious harmony and promoting peace in the state.
The commendation came during a meeting with Muslim leaders, led by Sheik Ahmad Aladesawe, Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ondo State.
The Governor emphasized his administration’s dedication to inclusive governance and collaboration with all religious groups for the state’s progress. Responding to concerns, Aiyedatiwa clarified that recent appointments were politically motivated, not based on religious affiliations, and assured future considerations for the diverse interests of the populace.
He affirmed support for both private and Islamic schools, addressing concerns about teacher shortages.
The Muslim leaders, acknowledging their support for Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, presented recommendations, including reviving the Nigeria Inter Religious Council, fair distribution of amenities, timely payment of gratuities, and a state of emergency in teacher recruitment.
